At ZEE5, one of our core values is ‘Customer First’. While we all agree it’s self-explanatory, here is some practical information on what it exactly means to be customer first.
5 ways to incorporate the value in our daily work life and to put the customer at the center of what we do.
1. Know your customer – It is important you put persona to the customer for whose interest you are working. Start with a general idea of who could be your customer. A good way to know your customer is to see what about your brand are your customers are talking about on social platforms or to the help center or interacting with data scientists could help too.
2. Recognize the need – Once you know your customer the next step is to think what your customer would want ideally. For instance, if you are working on a payments page, what would be the ideal expectation from your customer. This would help you anticipate a customer’s need and fulfill it.
3. Delight your customers – Bring in the wow factor by going beyond what is expected and think what would delight the customer. This will go a long way in building loyalty within your customers for the brand.
4. Participate in addressing customer concerns – While the onus is usually on the customer service team to front end and solve concerns, it’s imperative in your area of work to track customer feedback and be aware how your work could be impacting their experience. To begin, start tracing customer complaints route through to your department.
5. Measure metrics that impact your customer- In whatever you work, create, develop and look for a customer matrix that will be impacted by your efforts.
There are of course many more ways in which we can incorporate the customers first approach, but these are a few basic steps in getting there. Are there any specific tips and tricks you follow to be customer first?
